Summer Solstice

As we head into the new summer season, I want to talk about what today’s solstice means and how you can embrace it. The summer solstice is a time of year where the sun reaches its northernmost point in the sky for that day and starts heading back south again. It happens twice a year on June 20th or December 21st, which are also called winter solstices. This moment is often considered to be a turning point from one season to another, as well as marking an end to longer days and shorter nights.

The Summer Solstice is reminding us to celebrate the light within and the nourishing power of sunlight. It marks a time for replenishment. Our longest day of summer has arrived and with it brings a sense of renewal! This is also when we feel most in tune with self-care – both physically through restful sleep or healthy exercise; as well as spiritually by spending quality time on personal goals.

The summer solstice is a time to celebrate what we have already accomplished and what we have to look forward to. In days past, people often used the solstice as a time for religious or spiritual activities in honour of this turning point from one season to another.

One way you might want to celebrate is by taking part in an Earth ritual where you can pause and reflect on how nature renews itself around us all. Going out to spend time in nature will help energize and ground your body. At this time of year nature is at its most beautiful and plentiful, so take the opportunity to reflect on what you are grateful for.

I personally love the summer solstice season of the year to reflect on what I have accomplished and where I might want to make changes or adjustments to my goals for the year. This is a time to dream and think about what you want your life to look like in the future. What is so wonderful about summer solstice is that we get to create what that life looks like just from what we see, think and feel. So be sure you are filling your mind, body and spirit with those things that you want to manifest into your life.

We are masterful at manifesting when we let go of the resistance. It is the resistance that stops the manifesting in its tracks. When we are resisting what is, then the power of creation can’t manifest.

So I invite you to take an inventory of your feelings during the summer solstice and see where there might be resistance and allow yourself to release and let go of that resistance. Whether you say you can or can’t you are absolutely correct. We have so many opportunities to use our creative power at this time of year.

How will you spend this day? Leave me a comment I would love to know what you are doing.

Will you be in the resistance or manifesting?
